Still struggling to come to terms with the death of close friend. A mega inspiration and a key person in me discovering a way of life in the early 2000's.

Gary DS a super special person, always pushing forward with new ideas and new projects. An amazing artist. A fantastic father to his super cool kids. An innovator and a leader. Throughout this year Gary was a big force in little eris, he gave us the opportunity to play big venues on the Wreck n Roll tour alongside well known established acts. He was a fountain of excitement, working with Gary you never knew where it would all lead to it was like a blank canvas of possibility. He gave me a massive buzz for life. As well as working with little eris I had just started to work with Gary on a couple of his projects - we had been jamming in his shed just days before he left for his fateful holiday. He was so funny we had a great song for the Unemployed Daytime Disco and also had a funny song about our old drummer who he would always tease me about poaching from him! He on such a high the last time we met, it was like he was living his dream having just come back from performing in his favourite city Berlin in a big swanky jag before jetting off for a mammoth family holiday with the people he doted on. He was a real family man signing off every message from G&Fam.

My fondest memories of Gary this year was at the mountain party where he ranted for around 15 hours whilst thrashing away on the drumkit with the wind going wild and tarpaulins blowing all around him. I remember looking at his cheeky grin as he battled against the storm through the night ranting and thrashing. I thought quite simply 'this guy is fucking insane'. I only had to look at him when he was on a rant and I would be creased laughing.

When I see coloured lights projected on to trees I think of Gary, big mountains make me think of him too, as well as beautiful woodland and rainbows. Gary's life was beautiful and what he had manifested around him was truly enchanting.

The last time I saw him he was so mellow and peaceful, Summer was in full bloom... and so was he.

I remember every word, every glance we shared, every moment in his company is crystal clear to me. We had such a positive connection I feel so lucky I knew Gary. I spent years wondering about him where he came from who was this amazing person... the more I got to know him the more I was amazed and delighted. I wanted so much to get to know him more, he was so enigmatic. Gradually throughout the year we became involved in each others lives and had made exciting plans for starting work on his film when he returned from Jamaica. I was counting down the days in anticipation like a kid waiting for Christmas! But he never returned alive.
Now there is a painfully sad void.

There is some comfort in the belief that Gary's spirit will definitely live on in the many of us who were inspired by him. There will be moments in time where his energy and vibe are manifested and to all of us who loved him it will feel like he is close. The dark abyss in my soul that this loss has left me with will stay with me throughout my continued journey through this life but I have to carry on, we all have to carry on.

Gary would not like to see us sad and procrastinating he would be happy to see everyone working together to move on through this maze of life to continue to piece together his magical jigsaw that so many special people are part of. And that thought is what's keeping the candle of my soul burning.

I thought of him one night while surfing videos online I sent him a message saying hey where is that really cool vid with the dancing crow with the words 'never to be forgot!. He got back in touch and we continued from there and he grew to be a prominent person in my every day life.

I am so honoured to have known him. I have this song to thank for the opportunity to spend precious time with this amazing human being while he was still on earth.

Gary by being Gary showed me so much about life and he is now the one to teach me about death.

For now I like to imagine him exploring the next realm with his beloved warrior queen Kath and his Welsh princess Caisie. He's out there in the stars, flying in the wind, swimming in the rivers, rustling in the leaves of the trees, in the squawk of every crow. Sussing it out to show us the path to the next phase of existence.

new music video - end of summer udpate

Not much blogging has happened this year as little eris project has been flat out travelling across the UK. We came straight from the wreck n roll tour into the summer festival season and constantly writing new material, and living and learning has not left much space for articulating and reflecting. To this end there will be an end of year report published on here in December which will hopefully summarise the evolution of the entity that is little eris, over the space of one calender year.

Anyway until then one bit of news worth publishing now is the finishing of the
'So Many Nights' music video. Shot on a freezing February afternoon at The Falcon in Cwmaman what was planned to be a simple dancing shot turned into an epic production with river action shots and dangerous conditions. The filming ended up with an cheering audience, and a special thanks is needed for Sheila and Elwyn on hand as first aid with towels and heaters for after the shoot.

A heartfelt thanks goes out to Robert Challis, a gentle giant with a genius creative outlook who made the video into the colourful psychedelic rainbow piece of video art and Paul Stokes a very true artist who inspired the shoot and also starred as a guest dancer. Thanks also to Johnny Nigma for the extra footage of the river scene and also to Monkey for the Monkey treats and transport.

Alchemy Spring Weekender 2011

We arrive at Alchemy and attempt to erect Johnny Nigma's vintage tent that has been abandoned for 2 years. It has no instructions and the tent poles are not connected like in modern tents so a lot of guesswork is involved. We spend 2 hours on it and then some men come and help with the extra pair of hands we eventually get the tent up. Time taken approx 3.5 hours. It's worth it though as once inside it is shaped like a teepee :) With the tent up we commence the hedonism... smoking and sunbathing and drinking and making DIY cheesecakes made of digestive biscuits, melted chocolate, kiwi and banana - before exploring the sights and sounds of the festival as the Alchemy begins!

After the show we unwind and run around the festival like twisted faeries.

Our new friend Niall is playing little eris music in his caravan late at night.
Closer inspection reveals he has filmed some live video and audio recordings and taken loads of pictures which have used in this blog! I hang out with Niall telling him of my adventures around the site and sip some potions before continuing with the running round like a twisted faerie, checking the tent is not on fire, seeing beautiful patterns, watching fire, hustling firewood etc

Walking back to the tent with Serafina we look up and the moon is dipped low in the dawn sky
- a green neon glow on one side of the crescent moon a pink neon glow on the other.

Strange electronic sounds melt into the dawn chorus of birds.

Before we leave Niall invites us for porridge with fruits and nuts and video screenings at his caravan we call it porridge and video party - it is perfect combo for recovering from a spangly weekend and to set us up for the drive back to Wales.

By the end of the festival we all agreed that the weekend had been uber chilled with an old skool vibe. The festival was set deep in the countryside surrounded by beautiful trees and flowery fields with a river nearby . We watched performances by Zubzub, Deferred Success, Poetikat and Ruth Charlotte and also enjoyed the UV hula hooping girl. To me, most of all what stands out at the festival was the infinite untouched perfectly round fluffy white dandelion clocks as far as the eye can see

Saturday: early evening

Far far far far away , up high on a mountain top , deep in the sweet soapy smelling pine forests, miles from civilisation. 2 twin ex military monster trucks align with Netty Lillith's new bus Gertrude and the tarps get erected and tied to trees with blue and yellow ropes making two stages - one for the mega mega bass heavy epic rig and one for the Scrap Wreck n Roll live music rig :D

Transits arrive as the night draws in.

Saturday: evening

The sound system starts. The looming forest becomes a moving canvas for rainbow lasers and twinkling spots of colour.

Saturday: night

Bass blasts louder , beats pump into my body it's like some strange transfusion pumping out what was there and replacing with new energy.

I think 'is it possible for music to be played so so loud!?' I delight in the vibrations.

Potions are shared and funny and peculiar things take place.

Sunday: funny o clock

All through the night the wind slaps the canvas into the air, and the drums and rants and bass blasts into the atmosphere. The forest listens, it knows the truth.

Sunday AM:

Suddenly the sky is pale blue, the red flames of the fire are now not as bright in the morning light. I am playing my bass guitar very spikily, my hair is blowing across my eyes. I look down at my pink glittery nailvarnish and muddy fingernails, the gold studs on my 80's charity shop jacket are shining happily, I smell of woodsmoke.

Sunday midday:

The music continues, classic tracks from the depths of party time with added bass punch.

Sunday afternoon:

I am crawling on a bed of pine needles amongst the sweet forest trees, surrounded by a pine cones of amazing strange variety of shapes, colours and textures.

I throw up and feel new.

Sunday night:

The music winds down, most vehicles have left, we drink hot tea and cook food in the bus

Monday morning:

We have breakfast the remaining rig is dismantled. We leave the forest I slowly return my thoughts to the next mission ... which is...

out & about... Upside Down screening with Alan Mcgee

This week I went to see a special cinema screening of the Creation records film Upside Down which is released on DVD Monday 9th May 2011.

The film by Danny O'Connor is intelligent, colourful, grainy, choppily edited, glitchy, funnny, inspiring, fascinating with an amazing soundtrack of course. It's a complete audio visual sensory treat with moments of gleeful abandonment and ultra partying.

Upside Down gives an insight into how Alan Mcgee stayed true to himself and created a beautiful thing, a moment in time and a musical movement that made history. The story of Creation centres on Mcgee, a skint wacky ginger bloke from Glasgow with an eye for the ladies and a penchant for ecstasy, who has a wild time partying and carves out a position in the music industry by starting a record label and with razor sharp pure good time vibes, leaves behind him a trail of chaos, sound and colour ...

The freedom of Creation records allowed bands such as Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine and Jesus and Mary Chain to express themselves purely and wholly and created an explosion of energy that changed the face of popular music. Mcgee's approach of signing 'people not bands' gave birth to the recording of natural musical gems such as Screamadelica and that stood out amongst the albums of the era. Raw unbridled creativity was allowed to fester and grow like mildew, with spores flying everywhere awakening music lovers across the globe.

After the years of hedonism the party finally ended when Mcgee on a massive comedown sold the label off to Sony (this was only after suits stealthily infiltrated the label, and planted their deadly seeds of corporate doom).

All in all a brilliant story ,mega worth watching and also if you like to buy things then it is worth owning this classic chronicle of Creation from start to finish.

Can you tell me a bit about yourself? What is your profession? Are you unemployed? What is your story?

I am an artist and musician - I have been unemployed for 2 years after the project funding for my post as Arts Development Officer came to an end. I had that job for four years. Part of the role was to manage a programme of theatre, cinema and music events. It was a great position where I could apply my degree in Entertainment Industry Management directly to my work. I really enjoyed the role I think it would have been possible to continue the project there had it not been for the regressive corrupt manager.
Now along with jobsearch etc I focus my energies on Little Eris which is my music project and also on The Unemployed Daytime Disco.

What inspired you to start up the unemployed discos?

I was talking to a friend of mine called Adam Johannes and we were discussing how boring being out of work can be and how many good people with creative talents were not fulfilling their potential due to financial restraints, poverty and the general futureless hopelessness and depression that comes when you can't find a job. Adam joked about having a disco in the daytime and it all started from there really. Once we decided that the disco should definitely take place we went about looking for a venue. The Rockin Chair is an independent local venue that supports the arts , it has a stage and a PA system, and it run by friendly people so we decided to hold the event there. We negotiated a free hire and are very grateful to the venue for supporting the local unemployed people in this way.

How long have they been running for?

The World's first Unemployed Daytime Disco took place on the 20th December so we are coming into the third month of the project now.

Who goes to them?

The Unemployed Daytime Disco is appealing to anyone without a job so the discos are attended by all sorts of people! Unemployment is indiscriminate, everyone is affected . We have seen a wide age range at the discos, both as audiences and performers. At the last disco we all sang happy birthday to a 3 year old, we also had a youth band called Inconsiderate Parking performing and a father daughter steel band. I have seen a couple of elderly people bopping away at the daytime disco but I would say the majority of people are between 25 and 35. Most people are jobseekers but many who came in the day are also freelance workers or part time workers. Some people come after work as the disco runs until 8pm.

Do you think they help people cope with unemployment?

The past two discos for me personally, have been a massive boost to my self esteem and confidence. I am sure everyone involved feels the same. It's been a hard Winter for poor people, the disco has provided a positive distraction and something good to prepare for and look forward to. The disco has been a meeting place where people lend each other sewing machines, share poems, swap survival tips etc. Through press coverage we have helped raise awareness of unemployment issues and hopefully also helped changed perceptions of unemployed people.

Do you see the same people each week?

The daytime disco works as a collective with everyone's input welcome and everyone helping to promote it. It's a very holistic event. We do have a core group who have specialist roles eg Heledd Melangell translates publicity into Welsh for us, classical pianist Frances Crack is our link for getting music students from the Atrium to perform, Johnny Nigma has been photographing every disco... there are more people who help Ceri, Jasamine, Saskiia, Mab, Will, Jack, Adam (to name but a few!) who help with publicity and inspire and advise. The disco relies on goodwill. We have a regular following but there are new people coming every time. There is a new line up for each disco so there will always be fresh sounds and different people coming along.

What future plans do you have for the discos?

We are in the process of drawing up a constitution to form an official group so we can apply for funding for workshops, equipment, trips, guest artists, travel expenses for the acts etc. We would like to stage an outdoor Unemployed Daytime Disco in the Summer, we would also like in the future to have an Unemployed Daytime Disco stage at festivals where the performers who are ready to advance can have the opportunity to play on bigger stages. We are aware that if the disco continues to grow we might have to move to a bigger venue in the future. There are also plans at the end of the year for an exhibition of Unemployed Daytime Disco posters , the posters are designed each month by a guest artist.

What are your personal future plans?

To continue working towards social change, to make lots of lovely music and help create positive environments where we can all be creative and happy, to do what I love every day and work on projects with amazing people with shared ethics and vision.

Had a wicked time playing in Bradford on Saturday 5th March at Rio's !

Everyone was in good spirits by the wonky time we played at 4am!

Loved the guest vocals from Lindsay Trailer Trash :) great to meet old friends and new really nice to be on Wreck n Roll shows again - used to love playing these with my old band Freaky Fortnight back in 2006/7 :) my fave parties ever feels like super freedom!

The amazing Jasamine Jackdaw has been part of little eris project since May 2009 with her beautiful singing, accordion and keyboard and creative loving vibe playing Jasamine is a mega force in the live shows. She also has her own music project please visit her Jasamine Jackdaw myspace to listen.

Dinnermoney (percussion)

Cardiff music producer and multi instrumentalist Dinnermoney came with us last year when we toured with Viv Albertine and we are super chuffed to have him on board for Wreck n Roll to sprinkle the set with percussion and to indulge in some triangle playing. Check out Dinnermoney tunes ere...

Frances Crack (midi synth and vocals)

New to the little eris project is the rockin Frances Crack. A wild and untamed student activist, classically trained pianist and a very good piano teacher. As a child Frances was forced to play piano at a competitive level, we are excited to liberate her from convention for this tour where she will be mostly be playing synth with one hand using only one finger whilst having a mini rave. Frances is also a talented singer songwriter - check out her brilliant song about the banks here...

Ben Y-Chrome (guitar)

Another newbie to the project is Ben Y Chrome! A multi instrumentalist and studio producer Ben is a mellow soul and great musician. His track 'sad to see the back of the 90's' is one of my favourite discoveries of 2010. Super chuffed to have Ben on the tour ! Sad to see the back of the 90's by Y-chrome

Patrick Buckley (drums)

Paddy is a gifted young musician studying at The Atrium. He is a classical pianist and a drummer in a computer games cover band and has an obsession with the band Muse. This will be his first outing with little eris - super looking forward to being on the road with Paddy :)

Saskiia Shitbag (dancer)

We met Saskiia at the Unemployed Daytime Disco - the press loved her she is like the Unemployed daytime Disco cover girl! Another newbie to the project we are very excited to see Saskiia in action with her awesome nu style bellydancing... mega spiritual good vibes super lucky to have Saskiia on board! Welcome!

So Many Nights - music video shoot

So the best little eris song for this year is So Many Nights and after burning off a compilation of everything that was on my laptop for my mate Challis somehow only So Many Nights would play in his van!

Lucky for me the creative but humble video expert took a shine to the track after hearing it play repeatedly in his van for a few days and offered to make a music video for it. After seeing the skate, dance and motocross videos (quirky, amazing, lofi, spirited) that Chal had produced I was also really keen for him to make a video.

We set a date for the shoot and our fave pub landlords obliged us by letting us use their big room for the afternoon. I took a bag of clothes and props and at some point on seeing the river outside I realised that I would have to filmed in the river. The song was written about recovering from heartbreak and a time where I just wanted to lie down in a river and be washed away, to just decompose. It was therefore important for me to include the river whilst I had opportunity to be filmed.

So on a chilly grey Sunday afternoon , late February we gathered to produce some green screen film footage which then turned into a dramatic extreme production with an audience.

The video is in post production now (had a sneak preview tonight, the video looks ultra kaleidoscopic) and will be with us in a few weeks but for now here are a selection of pics from the shoot taken by Johnny Nigma.

Organise your own Unemployed Daytime Disco - 7 Easy Steps

Rumour has it that news of the Unemployed Daytime Disco has reached New York, we are expecting a wave of Unemployed Daytime Disco's starting up in cities across the world that are suffering from high levels of Unemployent. We have been asked to do a daytime disco in Bristol but what we are most interested in is helping Unemployed people to organise their own discos in their own towns and cities - it's better for everyone this way!

So to this end here is a very basic guide... for anyone new to organising a daytime disco :D

Organise your own Unemployed Daytime Disco - 7 Easy Steps

1. Find a venue that has PA system where the owners are easy going and won't charge you for venue hire. If you have your own PA even better - more choice of venues then ;)

2. Pick a date - our date is fuck the Gregorian calender do it at full moon Cardiff time is 2pm - 8pm

3. Get talking about the Unemployed Daytime Disco ! Spread the word tell your friends, ask your friends to DJ, play guitar read a poem etc

4. Ask around for an artist to make a poster / jpeg

5.Do a FB Event Page - feel free to copy and paste any quotes / statistics etc from the Cardiff Daytime Disco

6. Add the line up to event page with a link to each act

7. When the line up is finalised work out the time for the acts on the day someone will need to have a copy of this on the day to try and help stick to the times so everyone on the line up gets chance to play

Over the past two years little eris has performed at many events and festivals, we rarely get paid and all the music is free haven't ever charged anyone for a little eris cd as money is not an objective of the project ! However a new laptop is essential to the future work of Little Eris. At the moment I am operating on two very old powerbooks which ironically are not powerful at all - people often think i am using good kit as the titanium cases on the laptops are similar to the macbooks but in fact the machines I am working on are around ten years old they are very low spec and are in the winding down phase. I need to start raising funds now so I can get a new machine in the near future to continue the little eris project into 2011and beyond!

little eris audition for steve ignorant the last supper tour

I have been invited to audition as a female vocalist for The Last Supper, CRASS SONGS 1977 - 1984 .
which is going to USA, Canada, probably New Zealand, Australia and possibly Japan.

CRASS have had a massive influence on me after my friend Jobby from Power is Poison www.myspace.com/powerispoison suggested I listen to Feeding of the 5000. The more I learnt about the CRASS movement the more I felt enlightened , inspired and reassured. Their DIY approach instilled in me do it yourself attitude that lead me to make self produce and self release 'Molecules 'R' Us' and the 'With Glove' collection.

The opportunity to audition is a definite highlight of my life so far.

I set off to the Shepherds Bush concerts that Steve Ignorant did in 2007 with a fiver to my name, a ticket to the Saturday night and the Conflict after party gig and megabus return to London returning to Cardiff 6am the next morning . Met some great people from Guernsey there who persuaded me to stay, made it possible for me to survive, got me in to the Sunday night show too and sorted out but ticket home for me. It was an amazing weekend I never thought I would experience the music of CRASS being played live like that. The the band ended in 1984 with their last gig in the village where I was living at the time as a little kid. So it was a very special event to see the music resuscitated :)

Since my old band freaky fortnight ( http://www.myspace.com/freakyfortnight/music ) split in 2008 I have been doing the little eris nice electronica and not shouting really out my vocals or anything. However I am quite looking forward to the audition and singing loud and proud like I used to with the freakies!!!

This is the last time ever a tour with Steve Ignorant and his band will take place, so it is genuinely a one off opportunity.

With the new government in power, the cuts and the protests, this era echoes Thatcher days of the early 80's. There is no better time than now for people to hear the music of CRASS. More people are becoming open to anti-systemised view. It's also not just the working classes who are being shafted now but the middle classes too.

Even if the people who don't like punk music took time to read the lyrics of CRASS they will not be able to dispute the fact that the words are the truth. And those truths are still true today.

Now to focus on the 3 audition songs originally sung by Eve Libertine who is AMAZING.

The man who wants to privatise 635,000 acres of forest belonging to the people of England

I read today an article which made very angry.

James / Jim Paice has proposed that all 635,000-acre of Forestry Commission estate are to be sold to whoever wants them.... including corporations based in UK and also overseas

The implications of such an act would be putting hundreds of species of plants and wildlife at risk and would potentially put green belts in the hands of the profiteers. Bad move.

So who is this James Paice character?

Another member of the elite silver spoon clan of course!

James was educated at the boarding school Framlingham College (above) before finishing his education at the Wittle Agricultural College (below). mansiontastic

After decades of Torying it up James Paice (also known as Jim Paice) was appointed Minister for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs in May 2010.

He is now proposing to sell off all the forests in England: easily the most idiotic idea this month.

James Paice must be stopped. He is in a position of influence and he wants to sell off the forestry.
Once private money is involved the forest will be under threat. We must stop this guy from pushing through this plan - before it is too late.

On behalf of every living plant tree animal bird insect river flower in the forests please write or email and tell James Paice how bad an idea this is?

He is more likely to take note if he is contacted directly at his remote country hideaway rather than through the administration system of Westminster.

It is clear to me that along with proposing the forests owned by the state be sold to private companies and individuals (basically privatisation of the natural world), this man is pandering to the needs and tailoring his policies to the needs of the wealthy horsey Royals.

A note to my Welsh patriotic friends... James Paice is not trying to sell forests in Wales but we must still defend nature and wildlife in the UK general regardless of what the English did to the Welsh ! ;) All forests are beautiful and need to be protected. But instead of conserving our essential resources people want to take them out of the hands of the people, and into the hands of the companies (sometimes their own companies) and their rich friends...

Eris: Hello Shrouk please tell us a little about yourself

Shroukie: Hey :) well friends call me Shroukie.

At the moment I am doing Art and Textiles at Cathays 6th form just because I couldn't go to uni this year as asylum seeker's aren't allowed student loans.

I like playing guitar (which I'm really bad at but I like to pretend!) and I listen to all sorts of music, mainly rock, especially Jrock! In my free time I volunteer for groups like WSSAG and STAR. I also volunteer as an interpreter sometimes and help people speak English.

Eris: Cool! I understand that you came here from Egypt, how long have you been in the UK now

Shroukie: I have been here since Novemver 2007. Although this might not sound like a long period of time in which a person can build a life here I would like to add at that I was barely 15 at the time so it feels a lot longer. It feels like I lived here most of my life, I have amazing friends that I wouldn't want to lose for the world! I have people that I consider family; people who accept me and love me the way I am when my own "blood" family woudn't.

Eris: Now that you have turned 18 the government want to deport you, why do they want to do this?

Shroukie: Well I claimed asylum based on my orientation and religion. They said that it's okay to be gay in Egypt and that I won't be persecuted for my sexuality or religion when there are clear cases of persecution, a humble Google search can show that. They said that I have no real grounds to remain in the UK and that I will be deported.

Eris: What would life be like for you if you were forced to leave UK

Shroukie: I won't be able to express myself freely, I will not be able to be openly gay, I will have to accept an ID card with "Muslim" written in the religion section thus having to be treated under shari'a law. I will have to change the way I look; piercings, hair, dress sense and basically not be my self. I will have to spend my life in hiding from my family which will be very hard as some of them work within the government and if my name is registered anywhere, i.e. University, it would be very easy to track me down. At this point I could suffer FGM, non-consensual arranged marriage, submitted into mental hospital or even an honour killing.

Eris: There is a Save The Shrouk event on 24th November organised by Folk Against Fascism at Gwdihw in Cardiff . Are there any other events being planned?

Shroukie: Well this gig will be our Campaign launch gig, there should be more events in the future. We hold meetings regularly as well and hold film nights occasionally. We always send invitations via Facebook to all our members on the group "Save The Shrouk" for any events.

Eris: Along with coming along to the events how can people learn more about this campaign and how else can they support you.

Shroukie: The first step would be to join our Facebook group, through that we ask people to write letters, send petitions and any ideas are suggested and discussed.

Little Eris to release album inspired by an initiative in New York created by architect and artist Aram Bartholl.

The album will be placed on to USB sticks and cemented to buildings. There will be maps available to locate the ~USB points - it is expected that there will be a little eris usb points in every UK city by Summer 2011.

little eris live set up

Since the first little eris live show in November 2008 I have had almost 2 years of experimenting live with various combinations of equipment. This has led me to establish the current set up - this set up is working well and allows for a lot of freedom when playing live which is often the difficult part of crossing over to playing live electronic music.

I am now using 2 laptops with reason4 running on each allowing me to build up at least 2 tracks live at a time on separate computers - could even do more if you really wanted to - guess it is pretty inifinite. Both laptops are going into my mixing desk which then feeds out to the main mixing desk.

I have also incorporated kaoss pad , vocals (2 vocal mics - one clean and one for effects controlled y myself via the toneport) plus the usb keyboard and still a few songs where I also play the guitar or the bass.

jus need to work on trying not to look so damn serious all the time

so now ...

little eris will be taking a break from live to prepare for Spring tour and work on the official debut album release for 2011 - more news on this soon :)

On Monday 27th September Mr Nice movie premiered in Cardiff.

Mr Nice is an epic true story of a Welshman Howard Marks (AKA Mr Nice). A man with a taste for sourcing the best marijuana ,a knack for recognising opportunities (such as smuggling drugs in rock bands shipping containers), and a talent for pulling off false identities. His mission to keep pot smokers supplied with quality weed, leads him on to dangerous and exciting adventures.

The movie maps Howards journey from Kenfig Hill in South Wales, to Oxford University and on to destinations as bizarre as the hills of Afghanistan and as bleak as a US Federal Prison.

It gives an insight into the secret life of a serious drugs smuggler yet is full of humour, romance, charm and is surprisingly emotive and moving. Don't forget your tissues, there might well be tears...

Mr Nice is beautifully directed by Bernard Rose with excellent performances by Rhys Ifans (as Howard) and Chloe Sevigny as Judy Marks.

this is a mix for people with an ear for DIY muffled ideas in sound :)

it is the little eris new track called 'lost me ' or 'so many nights' duno wot it will be called yet!

i recorded the vocals for this at supercollider studios in E17 when i recorded the vocals for catmoth. shout out to ian for putting up with me yelling in his ear for the night :)

this mix is just a draft , it is the laziest mix just to get the structure of the vocals. i put a little effect on the backing vocals - this is the kind of sound i have in mind for the final mix. i want to put this track thru the analog studio ;) i will also give it to dargor and hope that the cardiff D&B producer will master again, who knows... :)

Catmoth... from the wilds of Vegstock to the the bright city lights

Almost exactly one year ago to this very day, at the 5th annual Vegstock on the 28th august 2009, high up in the valleys, beneath the flapping tarpaulin of a DIY stage Netty Lillith and me, Eris, first heard the shriek of 'Catmoth!'.
(see netty lillith is standing where we first disovered catmoth)

This strange half moth half cat creature can only be found in the hills of a remote village of Cwmaman near Aberdare. As with other mythical beasts sightings are rare. Netty Lillith and me were so exited by the discovery that the next day whilst playing a live little eris show at the uplands festival, Catmoth became an impromptu song... :)

Over the past 12 months since discovering the existence of the Catmoth, Little Eris and the Molecules have endeavored to invoke the spirit of the hybrid avian insect mammal at every live performance through the medium of the catmoth song and also through various entities who have channeled the spirit of the creature...
And now, one year on... Pigboy artist molecule , Kieron Da Silva Beckerton in a frenzied act of self distraction created a 3D model of the endangered Catmoth, breathed life into it, and now Catmoth is ready to fly!!!!

PIMP MY CATMOTH
So... we have this great Catmoth animation and now the Catmoth music needs to be as good as it can be! It's all still a work in progress but over the past week the track is really starting to take shape... the vocals for the track were recorded at Supercollider Studios in E17, London on 19th and 20th August, engineered by Ian Simpson. The vocals and the wavs from the original catmoth song are being mixed/enhanced by a very talented psy trance fiend named Dargor from Cardiff. The track will then be mastered by another local producer known for his sweet and intricate drum and bass production - more news on this to be announced. The track so far has been epic pimped !

Toronto based composer John Farah came to Wales for a week ,his first time in wales john performed two shows with little eris, one at the Brecknock museum as part of the Brecon Fringe Festival , the other at Ten Feet Tall, Cardiff. On both occasions John gave an amazing performance and was a lovely visitor to Wales.

John arrived on friday 6th and knowing that he is a fan of drum and bass i took him to cardiff's regular d&b night run by aperture at clwb ifor bach. john loved it there.

the john farah / little eris show on saturday 7th august was great , the day started with our posse drumming giving a drum lesson to a policelady.

on sunday we went to the art rat show in newport. the cooperative bank in john frost square was host to 3 floors of art, including the sounds of the stok exhange crashing, bank cashier counters with devil silhouettes a nightclub in the basement and an office floor with a little sound system in it and a nice free party dj :) was funny. i love art shows take your own wine, have fun, enjoy the creative treats, everyone is on their own trip. no problem.

Monday evening we were hosted by my sister jenni and john gave our own piano concert were we got to hear Chopin played properly before our very eyes and ears :D sonic bliss.

On Tuesday we performed at Ten Feet Tall. Little Eris had special guest 'Psychic Dave perform a track. Kuradi opened and The Red Shark Sound System played out the night their good vibe live drum and bass.

Little Eris played at the Hackney Wicked Arts Festival on 31st July. Sandwiched between two kick ass electro breaks DJ's this was our best slot yet.

Jasamine Jackdaw accordion playing and singing molecule extraordinaire was in attendance as was Johnny Nigma with this video and stills cameras.
We loved the visuals on the main stage and the graffiti - thanks to hakney wick for these and the great sound system and lighting and general niceness :)

It was an amazing urban festival. Grimy, arty, street punks and the uber stylish congregated in one of the most creative of all London hubs for a weekend of art and music and general chaotic madness. With sound systems in car parks, on top of tower blocks and hundreds of open artists studios to explore the festival was a real mash up of contemporary culture.

Little Eris in the studio week 2

some things can't be rushed. i record a little thing to hear the sound in the room and experience the atmosphere created by the sounds. i allow the sounds and the environment to permeate my soul. i sit still contemplating. this is week 2. i know much more than i did last week but still such a long way to go. i am at ease in the space, i like the way it hugs me.

great times, hours of concentration, getting my head round how the studio is wired up. learning about the fx units and applying effects, reeling the machine, location of the sound box, checking drum signals, recording, lots of problem solving.

left on my own to get hands on practice of mixing a prerecorded track. the analog machine is like one big massive giant cassette with huge dreamy thick reels of tape. i realise quickly that analog has a distinct hiss (which does vary according to tape quality). the distinct sound becomes endearing, like a vinyl crackle with lots of character, a sounsdscapes of it's own.

i spent an afternoon playing with the effects and recording practice takes to get to know the process by myself. the reel still had some sounds from a previous recording which bled into my tracks, even after recording blank on my two channels there was still a rogue bass line coming through. for the next session vic, my mentor, said he will wipe the tape clean by using a magnetic device i would like to see how this is done. I felt really at home in the space, my eyes was drawn to a cool picture closer inspection revealed that it was a card i painted for vic after using the studio in 2005!

heh anyway in a nutshell this week has been about steady progress with short bursts of mega focus. the studio has good mics, unique vintage kit, a big desk , it is class.

4 week studio placement

Thanks to Promo Cymru and Track2000 the Little Eris project will be based in an analogue recording studio for 4 weeks as of next Tuesday.

The purpose of the placement is to learn the basics of analogue recording, generally get to know the studio and learn stuff from Vic Frederick who will be mentoring me. This is a very exciting opportunity as I have ideas to experiment with old technology and new technology and hope to merge electronic with the vintage sounds of analogue to create a unique sound.

Hopefully this will be a step towards improving the production of future recordings and the beginning of a second collection of songs which will be called the 'Lazy Jigsaw' album.

Starting next Tuesday I will probably do some kind of blog / video diary because this is a unique experience for me that I would like to share with you all...

Martha Rose Crow passed away in December last year. She had very important work to share with the world it is important that her work still lives on. I am really sad this amazing lady is no longer on this planet. It is such a massive loss. Her writing was spot on, ahead of her time. I hope all the stupid people in the world who waste their time playing online playing farmville on facebook etc wake up and read Martha's work instead...

My neighbour played a hilarious gig on a boat moored to the north side of the Thames last night. We arrived quite early and got to listen to a great dubstep set from someone who turned out to be ex- B.A.D. All so good though at bloody Scandinavian beer prices I realised I wasn't going to have a riot.Then on came a couple of half naked tall gentlemen with silver capes and sort of alien/frog masks. One played horrible heavy metal guitar whilst the other squeezed strangled loops out of a kaossilator with a largish guy struggling to keep a very dodgy PA working. Things were falling over, the sound continualy fucked up and the set finnished almost as soon as it started leaving me with the feeling thast they weren't taking the whole thing very seriously.

After a little bit more DJing my neighbour who calls her project LongingLightning came on and did her Harp/Theromin/Voice loops thing which went great until the PA cut out mid song. None of the power visibly went, no lights switched off. Later I got the feeling thast she had maybe been too professional for the vibe of the night, the equipment forcing its own meltdown on her as she wasn't going to melt herself.

Anyway she was followed by a friendly Welsh chick and her stilletoed friend who had been calm and sociable only an hour earlier but as they took the stage area they were tottering, one more alarmingly than the other. Equipment was set up, the sound guy struggled to attatch it to the dodgy PA whilst the cute Welsh chick swore into a microphone about everything not working. Her friend behind her was quickly oblivious to everything around her and started the gig on her own, singing quietly into a microphone. She fell over three times and eventually slid to the floor and had to be carried out.

As wine was spilt and swearing continued the set was eventually and acrimoniously aborted, with fluctuating rumours over the number of valium the unconcious blonde had taken. I had watched the whole thing from the front with a good pal who does sound for the band sometimes and we were beginning to really enjoy ourselves.

Next a whole bunch of guys started setting up tons of synths, beatboxes and analogue shit. I tentatively asked one of them if it was all going to stop working after a few minutes and they were going to call everyone cunts and fall over. I can't remember the answer but I got the impression this lot were going to at least take it a bit seriously, and maybe make some music.

As they eventually got started half the band aborted mission having been unsucessful connecting themselves to the dodgy PA whilst two or three synth players made a bit of electro noise for about ten minutes before their sound fucked up too. By now we were getting the impression that this was the whole point of the night, and that punk really wasn't dead after all.

More DJing, and some dancing was followed by an even stranger act. A rather largish camp looking male go go dancer bounced off the back wall of the boat, whilst in front of him what I took to be a fellow with a gold plastic manaquin torso strapped to his front and a balaclava turned out to be a real pair of tits and torso painted gold. Another balaclavad person with a fur tail on his/her head was shouting into a non working microphone. Some noise came from somewhere though I am not sure what or where from.

The mic started working as the person screamed "CUNT! FARKING CUNT!" over and over. This inevitably didn't last. A bit more DJing, the power cut out again and everyone drifted out except the stilletoed girl who was being attended to by ambulance people who were wondering how to get their stretcher up the narrow stairs.

I think it went well. The sort of launch party they should really invite tabloid journalist to write shock stories about.

Profile: Bronwen Davies AKA Little Eris (Musician)

Inspired by numerous quizzes on the likes of social networking sites such as Facebook, this is the third in a series of profiles of people we at Welsh Icons feel to be contributors to the cultural life of Wales. If you would like to nominate someone for a profile please email news@welshicons.org.uk.

Bronwen, a former pupil of Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen left her home in Aberdare for Swansea aged 16 and then moved to Buckinghamshire to attend University and play music. After graduation and a stint in the media heartlands of London's West End, Bronwen returned to Wales in 2004 and spent time in the village of Cwmaman working in arts development and playing in a punk band.

Bronwen is currently living in Cardiff and producing her music as Little Eris, a project that has just spawned her self-produced debut album, Molecules R Us.

WI: What is your favorite place in Wales?

BD: Cwmaman, I lived and worked there for four years. The village is surrounded by hills, streams, and forests and mountain walks are just a stone's throw away. I experienced so much freedom there, it really is a cool place. It has such a vibe, it is known to some as the Independent Free State of Cwmaman!

WI: Favorite Welsh band or musician?

BD: I am very fond of a few bands who are not really known outside their own circles. Smut Puppets formerly known as Mook, are a band from the valleys whose core members have been producing and playing excellent punk rock music together for over ten years. They have recently grown into a nine piece psychedelic band with percussion and electronica!

Maria Owen is an exceptional vocal talent who I have only ever seen play in Swansea. She has an incredible voice, like a female Jeff Buckley. And James Parr - an amazing musician who is completely off the radar. He performs once or twice a year and if you get to catch him it's a real privilege.

WI: Favorite Welsh food or drink?

BD: The special welsh mushrooms

WI: What does Wales mean to you?

BD: I feel very safe in Wales, it makes me feel whole. I feel like I belong here I feel rooted to the mountains and trees. Wales is part of me.

WI: What do you most miss about Wales when you are away?

BD: The Welsh accent

Recording set up

Firstly I can almost record vox guitar and bass again with the help of the angels of underworld who brought to me my essential kit upgrade. I haven't been able to do recrdings properly since last year! Hence not much new recordings being finished just heaps of live versions on various video footage.

I am working on a single called 'Lost Me' which is a catchy bouncy pop tune with the usual little eris quirk.

Jackdaw flies the nest

We have seen the departure of our much loved molecule Jasamine Jackdaw who still might appear from time to time but due to family commitments and an excellent project of her own to focus on http://www.myspace.com/jasaminejackdaw the time has come for her to focus on other things but we still remain best of friends and hope to work together. Jasamine has been a great force behind the little eris live shows and she will be epic missed!!! We love the jackdaw!!!!

Little Eris Interview.

Sometimes I have to stand back and take a look at how much the internet has changed the way we can keep in touch with people, music, art and news. This interview with Little Eris is a perfect example of the internet working as an interactive magazine where at a click of a mouse you can not only read what's going on in the artists life but also hear and see the work that is being talked about. Also the idea that after a brief meeting at a night and swapping contacts that this interview came together so damn easy is a testament to the wonders of electronic communications in the 21st century. Of course the internet is nothing without the people behind it making and enjoying the music and art talked about on this blog (and others) and so I'd like to say a huge thank you to Little Eris for taking the time out to answer the following questions after only the briefest of meetings. (I'm going on about the internet because I don't have it at home at the moment and realise how difficult (not impossible) it is without!)

04 Karma to You by little eris

HJ: Hello and welcome to EMW! Please introduce yourself and give a little background for those who
might not know your work.

LE: Ello! I am Little Eris producer and performer of experimental electronic lo fi post punk pop songs... :)

HJ: What's playing in your music player at the moment?

LE: Um, shit... well i have been listening a lot to the radio, what a pile of crap most of that is. I have also been listening to my boyfriend's CD's in his car but they are mostly skipped. LOL. The last thing i listened to today was a track called Predator by Cardiff artist Ninjah, and another track he produced with a Cardiff electronic producer called FlapSandwich called 'Dance like an Indian'.

I played those on YouTube to my friend who was interested in hearing Ninjah's songs. I spend a lot of time without music because I hear music in my head a lot and also create soundscapes from what is happening around me. I also like to listen to ResonanceFM the London arts radio station online there is a massive variety of music in there. From Muslim Hip Hop like Poetic Progress to soundscapes recorded in German scrap yards. Tis random!

HJ: Tell us a little bit about your creative process/what you use?

LE: For me the creative process is completely different every time. A track can come from just strumming a guitar, or from laying down some beats and loops and then putting layers of lyrics or instruments over that. Sometimes I will just have a line in my head or I will have been humming a tune. If I have something very hooky and I don't want to lose it I will record the melody on my phone. I use a basic a sound editor for vocals and instruments but I put them through a Line6 Toneport to create different effects, I do most of my beats and synth sounds in Reason4. I have an amazing Fender Zone bass a pink Fender strat copy, and an Evolution midi synth.

HJ: Influences and inspirations?

LE: I am influenced a lot by the sounds around me. I am inspired by high energy in the atmosphere. Sometimes I am compared to particular artists and then I will check out what they are doing - to me it is like an affirmation that what I am doing is ok. Is this is inspiration? It's like I always seem to find these artists after I have written music in a similar style or after I have thought of ideas that can be compared to theirs - like backwards inspiration...!? I am inspired by feelings and the sweet soul harmonics that I experience when I am on LSD! Like a miniature internal accordion with the most amazing chirruppy sounds. I am inspired by good feelings.

HJ: Would you say that the Welsh music scene is in good health?

LE: I feel I am not really in a position to comment. I do my own thing and now and again I come across kindred spirits and then I like to support their projects. I think we are lucky to have Adam Walton on Radio Wales who plays a lot of bands first demos. It can give an artist a huge boost to be played on the radio, I think he does a really good job. I think Nick who runs Spillers Records is a legend. It is people like this who keep the scene alive. The people who are reaching out to the musicians and music fans of all ages. Also all the photographers, writers and promoters and people who are up for going out to party and explore new scenes. I don't really like scenes, I tend to try not to be in a scene and I like to pick and choose the best bits from the scenes that are out there. I live in the Wales' capital city and there is not that much here that gets me really excited, now and again I get a nice surprise though.

HJ: Do you feel a pressure to move out of Wales too succeed as an artist?
If so, where and why?

LE: I don't feel pressured to move out of Wales but I do think being in London would be useful. I spent time in London last year and I met Toby Woby an amazing musically spirited person who has been very supportive and has really helped me. Like this year I have been on the same bill as Viv Albertine from The Slits and Kirsty Hawkshaw from Opus Three. And I performed in The Foundry in East London which was started by Bill Drummond from the KLF . Cardiff doesn't seem to have the same depth, it can't really be compared to London as that is such a huge city. We do have some great legendary bands here like Llwybr Llaethog and Super Furries who are pretty accessible. I like living in Cardiff but if it wasn't for my band being based here I would probably be better off in London. Hopefully is it possible to be based anywhere and still achieve creative satisfaction, which is what succeeding as an artist means to me. Ultimately the UK is a small place with probably the best underground music in the World so in theory it shouldn't matter too much where you are located on this small island.

HJ: What's your favourite venue/club night in Wales
and which venues do you look up to from elsewhere?
Where in the world would you most like to play?

LE: I don't go to the same places regularly but in the past few months I have great nights out at The Backroom a wicked underground club in Cardiff Bay, I have also had a good night in the Gwdi Hw Gwdi Hw and Tony's Kitchen Gallery. I really like The George Tavern in East London it has a decadent bohemian atmosphere with great acoustics lots of candles and lots of characters.
I really want to go New York to East Village, I started reading about the place after learning that's where Genesis P-Orridge from Psychic Tv and Throbbing Gristle lives. It's full of artists and squats apparently. It sounds cool, I wana play there!

HJ: What's the wierdest gig you have ever been to/played at?

LE: We played at a Microbeer Festival in mid Winter. The event was staged in a courtyard under sheets of tarpaulin. The rain had been hammering down for days. By the time we went on the tarps were heavy and full of water. I was standing in a puddle on a pallet. My laptop was on a pile of crates my keyboard was wrapped in this clear plastic poncho. My bass amp was in a pool of water all my leads were soaking. Most of the other bands had pulled out. I like a challenge though and we had a really fun gig and luckily no one got electrocuted and all the gear survived. It felt like being in the trenches or something, or in the ghetto, just with fairylights and beer.

HJ: What can you see happening in the near future in terms of events and releases for yourself?

LE: I have a pile of tracks that I have been performing live that I haven't laid down as proper recordings I really want to catch up with this. I want to do a music video for my track called 'Catmoth'. We really want the band playing at a few festivals but we were so busy at the start of the year as the main support on the Viv Albertine tour that we missed the deadlines for that now. But hopefully we will get on one or two. Little Eris music is great for festivals, very happy and colourful with bubbles! I also hope to start working more with more experienced producers who can take my files and master them, I would like to take the production of the songs up a level.

HJ: Three favorite Acts at the moment?

LE: I really got into Psychic TV last year I am usually behind with everything, luckily I discovered them just in time to catch their last ever gig in November! I also like the music of Welsh band Son Capson. I am looking forward to this year seeing John Farah in Wales. He is coming from Canada to play some dates in the UK. He plays slamming breakbeat electro drum and bass jungle tunes with jazz piano over the top. Pretty unique.

HJ: Favourite festival?

LE: Newfoundland Festival - tiny, sweet and banging!

HJ: Favourite Beverage?

LE: Spiced rum and ginger beer

Viv Albertine’s Limerence / Little Eris / She’s Got Spies : Buffalo Bar, Cardiff : 02.02.10

Ever wandered into some weirdo’s houseparty by mistake? Where a rambling Northern woman plays accordion next to a forlorn bubble spewing machine, and a lady in Far Side glasses trips out on the brown punch and dances madly to herself? This is the circus Little Eris has gathered around her, and together they form a nicely wonky model of unprofessionalism, and enjoyable shambles with only occasional watch-through-fingers moments. Essentially a vehicle for Bronwen Davies to pull out shonky beats from her laptop before overlaying guitar or vocals, Little Eris songs run the pop gamut from mighty Luscious Jackson swoon to threadbare meandering in roughly equal measure. But give me ragtag amateurs with a crowd-facing Bez over slick guitar solos every time.

Live Review – Viv Albertine / Little Eris

The Croft, Bristol, Monday 1st Feb

Not nearly enough bands have triangle players. But then, after the earnestly polite hardcore of the homework-dodging One State and the portentously livid rap of Ratface (a skinny Eminem with his hand stuck in a bag of wasps), Little Eris are a breath of fresh Welsh air in many other ways as well.

Accompanied by blurry visuals, they frolic through the outer meadows of belchy electropop, and while the flouncey dancer, headdresses, large pharaoh’s bust and self consciously kooky songs about ‘catmoths’ could have easily become disastrously twee, their deliciously uncommercial wobbly disco fumblings clearly hail from a darker place than your average bedroom laptopery. It’s the noise that Human League made before they had hits. More David Miller than Little Boots. The sound of homemade synthesizers being discombobulated - and all the better for it (Tom Phillips).

I met a chap recently who lives in a caravan in a polytunnel. An articulate and intelligent engineer who lives in a field with geese and pigs and cats etc. A narrow bumpy lane with little birds swooping in and out of hedgerows lead to his field dotted with tin.

Hey fellow Earthlets and Aliens . Not written a blog for a while due to doing that living life thing. Here is a mini round up the last few weeks.

Crisis Time 2009

We performed at the microbeer festival on 5th December.

Netty Lillith the lone raver, Pigboy the performance artist, Johnny Nigma and stylist Shells Bells were all at the show along with AJ Lennon who made his debut performance. After the show hooked up with a drummer there called Toppaz who I met a year and a half ago at Dreadzone gig. Hope to work with him in the near future. Thanks to everyone who came down to check out the beer festival. The weather was not great :) Had to set up the laptop and keyboard standing on a puddly pallet underneath a tarpaulin swollen with rainwater. Good fun though. Thanks to Jeff Musgrave and the Artisan Brewery.

Backroom

After accidentally stumbling upon a new underground venue in October I have been eagerly awaiting their next event which took place on Boxing Day. The venue is just the best place in Cardiff, simples. It is the venue we have all been waiting for since the days of the beloved Hippo Club.

The vibe, the group of friends behind the setting up of the venue, the story of how it all came about, the character of the building, the staff, the sound system, it's all good. 100% pure integrity. Gotta love it. I got there quite late so didn't see all the DJ's but managed to catch Dave Little's brilliant set of pounding deep tech grooves that got me lost in sound and dancing in a 'special way' lol. I absolutely loved headliner Krysko, resident of the Manchester Warehouse project who smashed the party with his slamming tunes. Not an orange person, fluff, or cheese in sight. Just a bunch of people out for a good stomp. It is the type of venue where you get grubby, everything is funny, everyone is smiling, you get lost in eerily lit corridors, double take at strange sights behind the barred walls and drink strongbow in cans. Stonhenge Free Festival 2 will take place on Winter Solstice 2012. Charlie and Lola Exhibition

I found myself unexpectedly in charge of two delightful children earlier this month. So, I took them to Cardiff Museum to see the dinosaur bones and crystals and came across an amazing exhibition for children based on the work of Lauren Child's. Lauren is the illustrator author most known for her children's fictional characters Charlie and Lola. It was an amazing exhibition for kids with lots of interactive activities like a dressing up box and magnetic clothes you could stick on Charlie and Lola, a puppet show and lots of crafty activities. The exhibition is set up in a big room with staff on hand to help supervise the children. I found the exhibition to be very interesting. I particularly liked the sketch books of original illustrations and also exhibits of miniature 3D collages with beautiful fabrics and tiny chandeliers. I was interested to learn that Lauren Childs used to be Damien Hirsts assistant. The exhibition is free and runs until 31st january. It is great for kids but also suitable for anyone interested in art, scriptwriting, animation and illustration. I found the experience very inspirational and got lots of good ideas for music videos and album covers.

Ad Hoc exhibition

Called in to the Old Library in Cardiff and caught 'Ad Hoc' an exhibition showcasing a mix of painting and sculpture by seven prominent contemporary artists. It was the work of Antonio Perez Melero that caught my attention http://www.perezmelero.com/. I haven't seen artwork like this before. The paintings were 3d and made of paper, cardboard and wood to create paintings that depict three different images according to the angle in which they are viewed. It is hard to explain. I really liked his bold geometric designs and the way the eyes are entertained by this strange visual experience of a painting transforming into another one just by moving around it. There is a video on youtube that demonstrates the experience.
Unfortunately it is not of the beautiful psychedelic paintings I saw at the old Library , it is a tribute to the American Flag. It is worth looking at the video to see his technique and then go to the website and see the other paintings.

The new tallest building in Wales

Went to check out the tallest building in Wales which has been constructed in Swansea marina. On the top floor of the building there is a great bar with 360 degree views of the city and coastline. My first time to see a lift with 28 buttons! At the top of the building is a very nice restaurant filled with glamorous people. It was evening time when I went there and on walking into the bar and seeing the views I was overcome with a strange sensation. You really do feel high in the sky. The top of the building is the shape of a cruise ship so it does feel like being in a space ship. The moon shone through the long glass windows. To one side the city sparkled below, on the other side was a black expanse of water and the glittering coastline. Deffo worth checking out :) Yo

24th October Little Eris played at Oxjam Brecon

Excellent sound by two cool dudes from Swansea. Johnny NIgma tried out his new light and dancer Netty Lillith got dry humped by a rugby loving lady (!)

Ended the night in the basement of a bank in Cardiff Bay. I was very impressed by the deep tech set played by Dave Little , very cool sounds. Looking forward to the next event on Boxing Night which also features a resident DJ from Manchester Warehouse Project.

29th October saw Teeth again, this time at Smash and Grab , London where I also managed to entice Toby Woby to come along.

Again inspired by their minimal set up and their dancing laptop sounds producer. Hope to see more of these in 2010 and even get on a bill with them if possible!

30th October performed with Kieron D Silva Beckerton at the Elysium Gallery, Swansea at this event;

Kieron's art piece was called 'I dispiz all that you are' - here is a pic of us before the show where Kieron is asking me if I want to look at his penis which he said looked like ' a white dog poo that's gone dry in the sun'.

This pics above and below were taken by a brilliantly talented photographer called Ronny Schon from Cardiff. Kieron's performance piece was full of energy, violence and destruction. There was a huge crowd outside the gallery window watching him express his frustrations and hatred of human beings. Very intense.

After Kieron's performance piece I played some live Little Eris stuff and then played some tracks while the artists drank wine and ate cakes. One guy said after I played that he was thinking I need to play some punk just seconds before I played some Crass lol I think I played a good selection of music to suit the vibe. We were also asked by the gallery to keep in touch with a view to doing a full Little Eris performance at the gallery in the future.

10th November Little Eris performed on the balcony of St Davids Hall, Cardiff as part of (*Blas) a series of events designed to promote fresh new sounds of Wales and improve the stuffy image of St Davids Hall, which until now has been primarily a classical music concert hall.

It was a good performance in an unusual outdoor setting and it was interesting to see the reactions of people who were not expecting to hear the beeps and beats of Little Eris floating over The Hayes on a crisp November evening.

This past week I have managed to cram in a lot of culture. Spent the day in Oxford where I visited the Modern Art Oxford Gallery and saw an exhibtion by Karla Black - completely brilliant obscure pastel coloured scultpures made from materials such as cling film, lipstick, glitter hairspray and baby oil. The various pieces were spread out over 3 vast white large gallery spaces. The exhibition gave a sense of being transported to a completely ethereal space. The atmosphere was one of a deep stillness the quirky sculptures and pale colours were feminine and beautiful, unique and puzzling.

I then went to the Black Sheep gallery where I saw some great paintings there were even a few paintings by Rolf Harris before spending a few hours at the Cinema watching The Men who Stare at Goats ...

I finished off the afternoon at the newly reopened Ashmoleum Museum where I particularly liked the Japanese exhibits, the collection of modern art paintings, the antique rings and the exhibition called self image where i took this picture...

Last night I had the pleasure of seeing 'Baroque Barrett' a beautiful performance of songs by the late Syd Barrett performed by Welsh singer Anthony Reynolds http://www.anthonyreynolds.net.

The concert was AMAZING. Syd Barrett's music had been sensitively arranged to be performed on piano, 3 violins and cello, and led by Italian conductor Marco Lenzi. It was a real treat to experience this performance. This was the UK premiere and I would encourage anyone, especially Syd Barrett fans to go and listen to this music played this way. It was haunting, magical, intense and dramatic. What was really really inspiring was the delicate presentation of the transient echoes in Syd's music.
With experimental slides on the strings of the instruments, reckless flinging of music sheets, the dynamic movements of the conductor, and the unaffected, sweet yet troubled demeanor of the boozy and rugged Anthony Reynolds made for a captivating concert that was over all too soon.

I read a book called Straw Dogs and I am now reading 'Wreckers of Civilisation, The Story of Coum Transmissions & Throbbing Gristle' that Johny Nigma lent me . These books have seriously affected my perception of reality :) in a brilliant way!!!
I recommend both as a must for anyone who wants to experience a life with no cerebral boundaries.

this season has kicked off to a great start.

i cant remember where summer ended and autumn began i jus now i have had a great few weeks randomly finding sounds

i guess i could cast my mind back around a month to when i did a round of the city which started at dub in the pub (where we literally had to push way my thru throngs of people to leave which was slightly freakish), then this night called freebass (which could have been good but it closed 2 hours early because it wasn't busy enuff - epic fail ... doesn't 12 people count as a gathering lol) then across to toucan (where there was a definite chill in the air) before goin on to a random house where i heard some really good layers of reason sounds. a particular highlight for me was the llwybr llaethog mini album listening party in the rocking chair, that was a lovely night and i somehow ended up with all these balloons walking thru town in the drizzle but i had my aunties huge lush duffle on so i was all snug.

then it was a kids birthday party where the disco got pulled because the landlady found a can of orangeboom and the kids retaliated with a food fight - the sight of seeing an egg mayo sandwich bounce off a grumpy swearing middlaged pub landlady's head - what a hoot

a slight glitch followed and I spent a few days in the land of suicidal tendencies ( which bananas I am told are the solution - and i just thought it was a raver myth) , I resumed 'normal service' kick started by contact with the 'real world' in the form of a flexible new deal induction meeting. At this meeting I sat in a room with 6 other people who had bee unemployed for 12 months or more. The end of the presentation had the words 'This is your last chance to have a choice in your future'. The shock tactic kind of worked especially after it had been explained to us that the company running Flexible New Deal is also responsible for supplying cctv to the US government and military... or something like that. So basically yeah,if I vanish you know why lol.

Um anyway yeah the rest of the week after the flexible new deal shock was pretty slow.
On thursday I went to see Son Capson who were excellent excellent excellent.
After all the excitement of Son Capson and horror of seeing some of the other bands i jumped on a minibus for the game console convention poeple(!?) heading into town. Got to town and went to meet with a couple of friends in City Arms where Guto from SFA was DJing but it was I think what is known as northen soul music ....which jus does't do it for me at all. lol saw the awesome ninjah and exchanged sum abstractions. later learnt the cool sounds from model inn was Scotch Egg and regretted not going there coz it did sound fun.

friday started with massive hangover and i cancelled all plans

friday eve called in on a friend and heard an amazing track which will be going out under a secret name - it all sounded very mysterious and good and the track was so so good. maybe it will be online one day but not for a while coz i think it will be a white label thing and rare to hear etc. but good to the core deep heavy serious vibes but so filthy it had humour too.

on sat after brecon gig i enjoyed watching the teeth playing in dempseys the other night then saw funny techno singing guy in model inn before having a mini rave with nia then heading off to discover the backroom party. this was a new place inthe basement of a well known bank, i duno wot the fuck was playing but i liked the music LOADS .

looking forward now to going to watch psychic tv next tueday and playing at the god is in the tv gig in buffalo on the wednesday. also be heading into london this week for a few days time out from cardiff.

this weekend i tried out sum new tracks at the oxjamfest brecon. i have loosened up my live tracks a lot and it was good to feel a more live energy coming through. nia was great dancing molecule as usual :) and johnnynigma had an exciting new light to display.

next little eris thing is on friday with kieron at the elysieum gallery in swansea.i will post details on here. it is not a music thing as such but if you're in the area come and see... the piece is called 'i despiz all that u are' ad has been devised by kieron da silva beckerton who is known for nudity, climbing and causing offense - basically full on as fuck in your face art shizzle. so... we'll just have to wait and see how the little eris vibe is going to blend with that.

This is my first blog since the official end of Summer. It has been a crazy Season for me one that has brought many new people into my life. I am now at a stage of reflection. Molecules R Us has been downloaded by over 350 people so far and I have give out almost 200 cd's. I kind of started in the psychiatric unit back in May where I went because I wanted to die from a broken heart. The only positive feeling I had at the time was the desire to get the songs I had recorded out so people could share them. So, with the help of my friends I launched my DIY album at the experimental music night called Tailspin held at the Rocking Chair in Riverside. It's quite nice now to look back from there right up to our most recent gig supporting Viv Albertine from the Slits in Brixton and think of the journey I have been on.

I have attracted some amazing new people into my life particularly Toby Woby and Jasamine Jackdaw and I have also been lucky enough to have really supportive souls around me in the human forms, Johnny Nigma and Netty Lillith in particular. Thanks also to all the other people who have been there for me, for putting up with me,for spending time with me and for making me smile you know who you are...

I am looking forward to the next stage of my work and I want to release another collection of songs

I have a number of songs ready and I will be working on getting these together, finishing some others and creating a few new ones too.

I am slightly spangly from the psychedelic experiences of the past few months and now it is the fungus season. I feel I understand more about life but I am seeing things differently, it is deep and quite isolated because I cant always relate to others, it's like I have lost a few layers, I am kind of at a stage where I am kind of in a no mans land.

So now what? I am looking forward to getting creative over the next few months. Tying up loose ends, getting WAVs off to different producers for remixes, get some music video type things done,make costumes and backdrops and hopefully make plans for next Summer. But the main thing for me is to firstly to keep making music and secondly to have fun performing it.

I have recently been reading some new stuff on the planet Eris it is strange how it relates to what I am doing.

Just came back from what i think is the last festival i am going to this summer. It was truly AMAZING! I ended up in a tipi sampling tropical treats which made me see everything in bejewelled pixellated vision for 10 minutes at a time. Awesomely pretty, I saw the world in such a gorgeous way, with rainbow lasers and moving canvasses creating stunning images before my eyes . There is literally so much we filter out usually... I want to see like this forever!

Another great festival was Green Man. I accidentally ended up there on my way to climb Pen y Fan mountain thanks to Laura from She's got Spies and her friend (who is now my new friend!) Kelly's obsession with Jarvis Cocker. Needless to say on finding myself in a festival with 5 acid in my pocket I did not end up climbing a mountain. I did however have a massive moment of clarity. I was sitting on the grass staring at some amazing screens at funny o clock listening to some cool electro music. The visuals on the big screen changed from these retro brown and beige stripes to a moving pink and green spiral, in that moment something clicked in my mind. I felt a sense of the past and future colliding, a sense of understanding and knowing. I felt timeless with a connection to the older generation of radicals.

~NEW FOUNDLAND~
This feeling was intensified at Newfoundland Secret Summer Gathering when I found myself drawn to some amazing psychedelic visuals which were projected on to a tipi, yurts and the trees. After a full day of hard raving I found myself sitting with the creator of these images. I watched amazing video projections listened to some great work and also sampled a candid cocktail of chemical candy . This experience was so profound for me that it is taking a while to process. Nia and Shelley were also with me and I had been speaking to them earlier in the weekend about my theories. I said things can change really fast. Time is speeding up, we are making bigger collective leaps in consciousness I think the tipi yurt experience helped illustrate the vibe I was trying to explain.

~60's REVOLUTION VIBES~
Before going to the festival I had read about the full moon in pisces which is predicted to bring about the energy of the 60's revolution http://www.opednews.com/articles/Pisces-Full-Moon-Septembe-by-Cathy-Lynn-Pagano-090901-147.html . My experiences of the past few weeks definitely confirms this theory! It is a time, I believe of ancient and cosmic, nature and digital. Very exciting I think :D

~THE CLAY POOL PREMONITION~
Another great highlight of the past month was swimming in a clay pool in Coed Hills just days after I dreamt of swimming in mud in a forest. I feel like I know where I am going and dream visions are becoming more and more a reality. A great moment was the meeting of Johnny Nigma and Toby Woby who finally met in the water after many failed attempts of introducing them.

~THE MOLECULES~
The bunch I have been performing with AKA The Molecules have been great this summer, an amazing group of people.
Nia's dancing is legendary lol Nick's violin adds a cool psychedelic vibe and Jasamine Jackdaws vocals harmonise effortlessly and her keys add a carnivalesque vibe to the music. Selwyn is a great professional drummer and Shells Bells adds some vintage glamour to the stage. Johnny Nigma has been an inspiration, healer and instigator of sorts who has provided me with many props ad gadgets and lots of information, things to think about and things to play with.

~VEGSTOCK & CATMOTH~

We had a great performance in Uplands Festival Swansea which resulted in a new song Catmoth. Nia and I heard someone shriek 'wah!!!! catmoth' the night before while we were decorating the Vegstock site. ~MANCHESTER~
Tantrum vs Pimp in Sub61 Manchester was a funny gig with guest vocalist Sam joining us onstage for some 'let's fuckin 'ave u' styleeee mc'ing lol. Very amusing. Sam is a great producer in her own right who wishes her music to remain anonymous at this stage ;) At this party we gave out Tantrum Summer Sounds 09 cd which included a track called 'End of the World' by Little Eris.

~LONDON~
Little Eris London molecule Toby Woby has been spreading the Little Eris love to a couple of producers - more news on this soon. Also there will hopefully be a collaborative project between Little Eris and I AM A VOWEL this Autumn http://www.myspace.com/iamavowel . Hopefully someone will film it - I am thinking it will be radical :-o

I am working on a collection of songs for my second cd at the moment including 'Don't need Words' a bouncy sort of dub style track which i hope to preview this month.

Little Eris London Diary

On 21st July I went to London to hang out for a week. Toby Woby had invited me up to re-record some vocals so I would have better quality recordings than the ones I did at home. The purpose of this was so we can give them to people to remix and also to get a mix that is of a good enough standard so we if we had the option of taking the tracks further then there will be no quality issues. We planned on just doing new vocals for Karma to You but ended up doing Karma to You, along with Particles, I Met You and my new track End of the World.

This is quite a long blog of my week in London! Tried to keep it short but I was there for 8 days so it still ended up being long wah!!

Tuesday 21^st July

I arrive London Victoria in the rain with all my stuff, huge bag of clothes, laptop, guitar, keyboard gasping for a fag hungry for food. I get a sandwich while waiting for Toby Woby and sit outside the coach station on the floor. I give a rolie to guy after seeing him ask people who refuse him a cigarette. We have a little chat. He is an ex junkie who has turned his life around and now works helping others to kick heroin. Very nice man, he tells me life is mapped out for each of us and talks of full moon parties in Thailand. He goes off we are both smiling and the sun starts to shine.

Toby Woby shows up we jump on a bus to his place in Covent Garden. I hang out some wet laundry around Toby’s living room , and we leave to meet my sister from work in the West End. We head into Soho to meet Alex, Claire and Sam who are all working on a movie called Michael’s resignation. Sam tells me of an idea he has for a music video for my track Particles it sounds really good. After our drinks we head over to a venue called Punk which is hosting an alternative comedy night. We meet Jon Monday, Chloe and Ally and pile into the club. It is a good evening with wine flowing and nice company. I realise that Normski is DJ’ing and I get excited! I remember Normski from his days presenting Dance Energy in the 90’s. The programme had a big impact on my life. I remember coming home from school turning on BBC2 and seeing people raving. It was so cool, the first time I heard Prodigy’s was on this show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qlq4DXCBgb0 We grab Normski for a chat and have a good dance to his tunes before heading back to Michael’s resignation HQ in Tooting Bec where I spend a night sleeping on the office floor.

Wed 22^nd July

I wake up at 6.45am the time of the Solar eclipse. It can’t be seen in London though only in India and China. I hang out for the morning at Michael’s Resignation HQ. I take a nap have some pasta with the gang staying at the flat then head into Covent Garden and call for Toby Woby. We gather up my music gear and head to E17 to Supercollision Studis. We are greeted by Toby’s cousin Ian and we crack open some beers and head into the studio to start recording vocals for Karma to You. The studio is perfect for vocal recording with an excellent professional microphone and great acoustic architecture and soundproofing if u wana check out you can call Ian on 07956 333 656. We record until late and crash out in the living room on mattresses.

Thurs 23^rd July

We wake up and spend the day hanging out with Ian and his son and ex partner Gab. We have dinner and Gab shows me some of her music, she is an acoustic singer songwriter. We spend the afternoon hanging out in the garden and I produce a soundscape called Jacobean which I give to Ian as payment for use of his studio The soundscape is 8.48 minutes long it is kind of classical baroque sounding. I am quite pleased with it. In the evening Ian gives Toby a rough tutorial on Pro Tools and says we can stay at the house and use the studio while he is away at Camp Bestival and Toby can try his hand at recording some more Litte Eris tracks. We drink booze, listen to music and hang out at the studio

Friday 24^th July

I am woken at 5am on a deflated airbed, Ian has let it down to take it to the festival with him. I head sleepily to Ian’s room and claim his bed for the few days while he is away. I sleep until 11am. I wake Toby up and we head in the pouring rain to The Foundry in Old Street E1 http://www.foundry.tv/ also check out http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=103733314617&ref=ts

We sat in on the Foundry's Late Late Breakfast show hosted by Tracey Moberley which goes on air every friday at 12noon until 1pm - here are archives of the show... it is AMAZING! http://www.sanderswood.com/radio/flbs/index.html . I meet some interesting people and hear amazing sounds from John K Farah who plays a blend of eastern style jazz piano on top of some banging electronic music. It is great http://www.myspace.com/jkfarah. John Farah joins Toby and I for coffee after the show before he heads off to Brighton to play at a rave. Toby and I head to Chelsea to meet his housemate Ben who is sitting outside a café with two ladies with tiny designer pooches. After this we stroll through Chelsea where I make a point of passing Vivienne Westwoods shop called The Worlds End. The shop is shut but I look up at the giant clock outside it which is ticking backwards.

We head over to Steve Treatments house where we watch a DVD on Marc Bolan, put glitter on Steve Treatments face and listen to him sing a song about kissing dead people. He shows us his collection of cd’s he has released through Topplers Records, here is one of his songs... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpGz8PYwpYY. I drink beer and bosh two random tablets I was hoping to feel mashed and mellow instead I was tired and grumpy and some weird itchy bites appear on my hands and back. Toby and I leave to get the tube back into Covent Garden to gather a change of clothes before heading back to the studio. It is late when we arrive back in E17 and we crash out.

Saturday 25^th July

I wake up at midday and find a frustrated Toby in the garden. He has been trying to get the studio door open for two hours. I grab a pair of pliers and manage to get the door open. Another problem emerges when we can’t find the power switch. I have breakfast and a frappe while Toby hunts for a power switch. Eventually I have a look and find the fuse box where a flick a switch and the studio powers up. We spend the afternoon and evening laying down vocals for my new song called End of the World.

Sunday 26^th July

Another studio day, we get in and set up the track for recording Particles. We call a friend of Toby’s called Jona Lewie ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jona_Lewie ) and invite him to come and listen to some Little Eris stuff particularly the track Karma to You. I prepare some nibbles for Jona who arrives late after getting lost driving round London with the sat nav on demo mode. After snacks and wine we go into the studio where Jona listens to Karma to You. I can only describe his approach to listening to the track as a post mortem. He listens to each element of the track and takes notes, it reminds me of a surgical procedure. We receive some good tips and advice from Jona who also listens to a bunch of other Little Eris tracks. We finish the night off with drinks in the garden, Jona leaves at 4am and Toby and I slam a few tequilas and pass out.

Monday 28^th July

On waking I find Toby in the garden and we head into the studio and lay down vocals to Particles and I Met You. Ian returns home from his weekend away. We record some additional vocals for Karma to You and have a celebratory barbecue in the garden. The recordings are done. YAY! Ian lights a fire in a giant oil drum with celtic shapes cut out of it. We listen to Hawkwind under the stars watching sparks spiral up from the fire into the night sky. I see a neon blue shooting star and I reflect on my time in the studio. I start thinking of my band members back in Wales, I think of fondly of my friend and band member Jasamine and look forward to going home to see everyone.

Tuesday 28^th July

Today we have the task of transferring all the vocal files we have recorded. In the middle of this we get a call from John Farah. It turns out he too is staying in E17. We invite him over for a bite to eat. John arrives. We have lunch in the garden and listen to John’s tales from his tour raves to jazz clubs and his experience and impressions of the UK. John listens to some Little Eris tracks and asks if he can have the files for my new song End of the World to remix it.

I am super chuffed and we give him a disk with the all the files he needs on it. John leaves and we finish off getting all the files onto disks. After dinner with Ian, Toby’s friend Martin picks us up and takes us back to Covent Garden. I drink Brazilian beer and Toby’s flatmate Ben plays Michael Jackson and shows us the Rex dance. After this Toby and I listen to music on laptop, we listen to his secret album by his old band Dorothy Strain and I pass out around 3am in a hazy happy dreamstate.

Wednesday 29^th July

Hometime. I gather all my belongings have breakfast and head to the coach station with Toby. We say our goodbyes and I jump on the coach. On the way out of London the coach drives through Chelsea, passed Steve Treatment’s house and onto the motorway back to Cardiff. I think about how much I love London and look forward to returning next month for more Little Eris adventures! YAYAYAY!

Party on a mountain - awesome it was, i saw the sunset, my friend nia showed up, saw some interesting bands, a tiny little eris track then a nirvana tribute band blasted me offstage LOL. Anyway, onwards... bit of this bit of that, then sum psy trance dj's various styles, much bouncy dancing, the sun rose, i hijacked the sounds but only half the set up left, dancing continues til boring tired person shuts genny down 8am ish, another genny produced but no PA left, nevermind happy daze of blankness, wake up smelling of campfire smoke, sunburnt, seeing trees all around and beats and bleeps and lazy conversations til 4.30 in afternoon soon followed by collapse on sofa.

So... I have been in London since Tuesday.

It has been a brilliant few days.

I liked walking round the financial district at night seeing the lizardy bowler hat slick snakey suits whispering in softly lit cobbled alleyways outside private members clubs. I loved having a sneaky spliff on steps of St Pauls Cathedral. Pigeons and Pelicans - weird revelations.

Yesterday I went to the foundry for the radio show they run every friday www.foundry.tv. What a fucking cool place! I loved it there :D

I met some amazing people at the foundry including a dear eccentric english gentleman artist www.richardniman.com who gave me a nice picture of his ceramic sculpture of Hitler as a child in a dress holding a broken doll. While I was there I also heard a lovely singer songwriter singing a song about moths and candles which made me feel like crying in a good way! There was a lovely photography exhibition there with some beautiful images of people with wings made out of water droplets. Stunning!

I have been staying at 'Michaels Resignation HQ', a beautiful flat in Tooting Bec which doubles as a production office for a new movie. It's all very interesting www.michaelsresignation.com and there are lots of funny actor types and general creative yay people hanging out here.

I have been working on a new track which is very electro breaks style and I am looking forward to going home and trying some vocals an stuff on it :)

The weather is stunning, the company pleasant, the vibe is right. YAY!

Review of KCC Records Night

I went to the latest KCC RECORDS night upstairs in Owain Glyndwr. Only £2.50 to get in - money very well spent. Despite it being the 3rd KCC Records night it was the first time for KCC boys to do the night in this room. The decadent interior, all black crystal chandeliers and red leather kind of worked with the colourful mix of dreadies, towny people and punks. Good energy it was.

The first band were ok but didn't really do anything for me.

The middle band on were called The Gush - so new they haven't even got any musics up on myspace! definitely a band to keep an eye on though. A scruffy bunch of normal looking guys playing some mean riffage really really well. Drummer - brilliant! Guitarist contortiontastic, slamming bass, an enchanting keyboarding vocalist. This band are full on as fuck, the changes and chops are so fast and in your face you cannot help but be transfixed. Fans of Kyuss, Jesus Lizard and Faith No More - get your fix of this shit!!!

Next up the first gig in ages for Fernhill fuckheads Smut Puppets. Formerly known as Mook the band have mellowed somewhat from the fast and furious punk days but still throw a few classic favourites for good measure. Their new line up includes the mysterious Jasmine on keyboards and backing vocals and 2 percussionists, bass, Jiggy still on drums, Doz who also drums for The Nukes on guitar and gadgets and the charismatic wreckhead that is Dean Collins on Vocals and Guitar. Their set now mainly consists of tripped out psychedelic songs which are danceable and good energy vibes. Always a good visual treat too.
The contribution by new member Jasmine was almost too subtle, I couldn't hear her much. I think as it was her first ever gig with the band, the PA was not great, there was just not much volume coming from her. Her solo stuff is very very very good check it out www.myspace.com/jasaminejackdaw , a lot of talent there and hopefully it will shine as the settles into the band.

The night wrapped up rather quickly, punters piled on to mini buses heading back to the valleys and those of us left on the street all ended up back in ponty for a booze up. A shout out to KCC Records for their efforts so far and look forward to the future events which includes an adventurous outdoor party next month! It's good to see the valleys punk scene evolving, branching out, embracing new styles and bringing with it a new buzz. YAY!

Little Eris is a performer theSprout has wanted to keep safe in our pocket since we saw her debut live show in Clwb at last year's Swn festival. Quirky, twee, cutesy and experimental are a few words often used to describe such a performance, but they don't really capture the essence of what Bronwen Davies's alter ego wants to share with the world. Take this her debut album: completely self-produced from sequencing to packaging, with mini heart stickers and a limited edition number hand-written on each one. Love it. For a more in-depth analysis of the process, read her blog. The 13 tracks on offer range from stripped-back electro indie (Internet Really Sux) to reflective breaks (Ice Power) to pounding sing-a-longs (E.N.E.R.G.Y.). All are inspired, organic, easy to swallow slices of bedroom genius that get under your skin deeper and quicker than you realise. Brilliant Exhibition

Last night I went to the preview of an amazing exhibition. Ended up boozing it up with the curators, artists and the team who made it happen without even realising hahaha. Just wandered along to the pub after mutual friend introductions blah blah one minute I was thinking woweeee who put this stuff together next minute I am like ooooh you're soo you're the Mel who put all this together like YAY! I thought Mel Brimfield who I'd seen credited as the curator would be a bloke for some reason turns out to be a really groovy hippy lady. Beautiful meeting those people it was!

I think everyone should check out the exhibition, the website is really interesting too.

Little Eris - Molecules R Us - Album Review

Track 1. "Short Time" is a simple Radiohead like Kid A introduction to the first fuller vocal Track 2. "Internet really sux" which comes into a more uptempo mode with 'get in touch right out of the blue and wait for me and i'll wait for you' and a quirky take on multiple bass guitar riffs. Good ear food.

Unlike Track 3. "Death of a princess" with avant garde jarring interspersion of guitar and vocals perhaps too psychedelic to be anything other than, well, jarring. A definite blip between the preceeding and next track 4. "Karma to you" a choral kinda of indian melody with the cute buddhist refrain of 'everything coming back' kicking off the elegence of the actual flow the album shows in faster alternations towards the next highlight of:

Track 5. "Don't stop" or also "Don't stop till I say go" within which a rockier edge emerges finishing in morphing into dance music at the end without you completely noticing at the time. Which is interesting. This is where the pattern of low-fi grungey new age music is confirmed... by refusing to confirm to either indie grunge or dance and moving into a sparkley interlude ofTrack 6. "Ice power" which it might be horrible to say but does goes on for 2 minutes too long.

Track 7. "E.N.E.R.G.Y" is a break back into ticky ticky lyrics flowing round bass focused riffs and high tweeting quiet defiant synth work and interesting basslines. Track 8. "Death it's out there" brings back the indian influenced "Karma to you" and throws some African and Australian into the stew as well. Which is nice. And again morphing into increasingly evermore dancy circles towards the track's conclusion into Track 9. "I met you" is a straight to the dancy lament with a melodicly borrowed refrain from "Gangsta's Paradise".

Track 10. "Particles" luckily has particles of bouncy downbeatness overlaying some reflections on particle like things and how lonely they can feel and how weird that is. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it. I don't know. Album reviews eh? Anyway... Track 11. "Catch a Spirit" disconnects into gothic triangles over aborigonal chants back again into dancy refrains and loops changing speed in this short track going into the sophisticated...

Track 12. "Dreamer" which is the stand out track behind 2,4,7,8, 10, 11 with the strongest central traditional non dance vibe which takes indie rock lo-fi and dreamy like the title asking over and over "dreamer... hold on...". Track 13. "Bounce back" comes round to strange and diverse chilloutish dance to conclude an album where whilst so much dance genre crossovers can insult the ears, Little Eris enchants them with indie and grunge edges and stands out enough in a renaissance of music in a digital age - enough to look forward to whatever Cardiff's own Eris Kaoss comes up with next and also look forward to a time when all artists are liberal with the syndication of their music online.

Also not on this Album of Little Eris is "Death before employment Remix of Sicknote" and "Who Let the Alien in".

Score: 7-8 out of 10. Depending how much you like dance over rock, but in all, an quite different blend of sub-genres which could appeal to either faction.

Hello

Thanks to the lovely ones who came to the Little Eris album launch party!

First party was at my place, it looked AMAZING thanks to Johnny Nigma who turned up laden with groovy sweeties, lights, strobes, flower candles, plastic flashing things and of course the all important ELF JUICE yayayay!

Cheers to Rhian for making the gorgeous fairy cakes :D and basically thanks to everyone who came and made it a really fun and special night! In attendance were the neighbours, old friends, new friends, lost souls, musicians, scientists, poshos, pikeys the lot. My night ended with gleeful, dancing, laughter pink champagne and luxury chocs then passing out mid conversation with someone I have never met in my life. Random, beautiful!! yayayayayay!

Ok so moving on to found items;

Anyone who didn't make it on the night or, came and didn't manage to get a cd, or came and got a cd and found out it was a dud (1 dud cd so far sure there'll be a few more)... then please just msg me your address and I will send you one!

I have around 100 cd's left of the 200 limited edition albums and once they are gone that is it! They will be available to download soon but it's not the same as high quality WAVS with original artwork in handmade covers with DIY spray painted cd's... so let me know your addy if u want one - first come first served basis!

printers, cdr's and spray can

Yesterday finished off the 13th track - it was Bounce Back an older track of mine and I had to re-record bass and guitar meh.

After doing this I set off to the printers with the front covers laid out on a huge sheet of paper and the back cover not even started just a wonderful jpeg from artist Aled Cummins http://www.myspace.com/artholove . In the printers they didn't want to use the paper I had brought but I managed to pull it off! Left the front design with them, got the jpeg from my usb stick resized and printed and went to pub to add tracklisting and credits to it. Back to the printers with back cover done and got 12 copies.
Went back to pub and sat outside and met a friendly workman called Tremayne who held me chop the 12 copies into the right size squares and stopped things flying away as I laid out the back covers on a sheet.

Back the printers where it was packed with dissertation students and people with huge posters and maps of the city and only 2 or 3 staff! My job was fiddly as all the paper i brought had to be guillotined to A3 to go through the printer. They asked if I could come back the next day but I was like pleeeeeeeeeeeeeese do it!!!! They agreed to do by 5.20pm (it was now like 4.45pm!). Went back to pub chatting away and realised it was nearly 5.30 printer closing time! Legged it back over and yay the nice ladies who work there were finishing off photocopying the originals to the A3 sheets of colour paper. It came to £18 and I had just enough! Back to pub to wait for Nia and Shelley who agreed to meet me to chop and staple. I was very pissed when they turned up:/ I had even resorted to drinking a can of bow I had in my bag. We headed to my house for spaghetti and chopping. Johnny Nigma popped in and between us we got the chopping and stapling done in record time.

9.00pm called Dargor who was on way back from work - he was halfway through last minute mastering having put a few hours in the prvious night. He asked to me to call round after 11pm to drop off the last track and listen to what would be almost a finished mastered thing.

I didn't want to stay in so I went back into town in town when Nia and Shelley left where I cruised round on my bike enjoying the gusty wind blowing through the city. I heard some music coming out of Glo Bar and a guy holding a didj said there was a charity night going in the basement. I said I was skint (had £1.50 or summin on me) so he said make a donation - anything! Got half a cider and donated all the pennies in my purse (felt bit guilty but couldn't sit there wiv no booze as I am semi alchy). Sat on this long cushion thing and saw a good double bass and guitar duo who did a funny cover of 2unlimited and also played songs in welsh and sung things about fish. They were excellent. Endured a very bland band but stuck around for Prisoners of the Sun as I had been chatting to the percussion player. They were pretty good I enjoyed their songs. I left around midnight and headed over to Dargor's with the final WAV and to check out what he had done. It was pretty cool what he had done in a short space of time - smoothed out the troublesome frequencies and sorted out cd so it will play pretty much same level. Was up with him until 4am listening and tweaking stuff so tired by the time I got home to actually sleep!!!!

Today then got some funds from Tantrum Records http:www.myspace.com/tantrumpromotions towards buying cd's and spray paint. We should have ordered them sooner online but hey ho. Went to every CDR selling kind of shop in cardiff looking for CD's with white face eventually found after traipsing all the way to the other side of town! Celebrated finding of white CD's eating a lush salad alone on a bench in the middle of the street.

Got back to mine and have been burning cd's since 3pm (with an hour for tea and spliff with a m8). The first song file seems to be corrupted and has lost the bass and vocals! boo! This track caused me probs yesterday so made the decision just to go ahead with the song with the missing vox and bass thinking if people continue listen beyond first track the better songs come and they will be happy then!?!?! Fuck knows. argh my posts are always too long. I made a stencil and have been spraying the cd's - had quite a good effect!

Ok I carry on now seem to have a bit of method to this. the bathroom I spray 10 cd's at a time, then burn them in bedroom on laptop then go to living room to check them later and put them in cases. I think I will have around 30 very soon and will try and keep going although after my busy day yesterday I am reeeeeeally sleepy!!!

I hope the tracklistings come out when they are played on other people's machines. My quality control checks suggest otherwise. Too late now though must get a pile of cd's ready tonight so I have plenty to give out tomorrow at they parteeeeeeeee!!!

ok i go. I am supposed to be at crisis recovery unit but I have to sign and carry on with stuff and prepare my house - does this mean my crisis is over... ?!?! I have to try and call them to cancel it but I have no credit so will have get up early and use phonebox or summin... argh too much to think about!!!

Getting there slowly but surely....!!!

Got the front cover design and added the text to it with the help of another client in the unit who seemed quite bemused to see me stressing over where to put my logo thing etc. Managed to do my photocopying there too and they even gave me the big sheets of paper I needed. The paper was in art room and no-one had used this paper for years so I was given the nod to blag around 35 huge sheets! Hurrah!

Wavs are now with Dargor who is just going to run them through a mastering programme. It is so last minute that he hasn't got time to work on each individual sound just the wav as a whole. he has 12 tracks there. The 13th track Bounce Back needs the bass re-recorded, must get motivation! DJ Dinnermoney contacted me today to see if I needed his help to master but I said it ok now coz I had given the WAVS to Dargor. Fishy also offered to master but I didn't have time / energy to go up to Cwmaman to give him the files but I am very grateful for the offer of help. Fishy is actually working on a really cool LIttle Eris music vid at the which hopefully will be up soon!

Another artist sent through a great image today his work can be seen at http://www.myspace.com/artholove , he is a really good welsh artist who does a lot with welsh bands. I am gona use this image on the back of the cover thing, and it will be surrounded by the tracklisting and credits thanks etc. This is what I should be doing now but I am tired. I haven't done much today at all. I watched a good movie though The Invisible Circus, cool film. I also watched a hilarious documentary called Legalize Murder which had some very funny characters. Like a twisted amateur kiss looking version of spinal tap. Couldn't tell if it was a joke or not ehehehe

I confirmed a gig today. I will be performing at Bitch Batch on the 10th May. Bitch Batch is a multi art form event with 12 other female acts including poets, burlesque, comedy and music. I am looking forward to it and flattered to be asked to take part :D it all down to Johnny Nigma yayayayay! Yesterday Johnny Nigma came round with rope lights, strobes etc for the album launch party at my house! it's gona look cool. After the house party I will be going to play a gig but I don't know what I will be playing yet.

OK that's all for now. Must work. Either that or sleep and get up early and work. But I gotta do the tracklisting to photocopy because Nia and Shelley have offered to come and help tomorrow. CD's wont be ready to burn until Wed morning so I must get the cd covers chopped and stapled by tomorrow night really especially as that is when I have some help! I might have to cancel the unit tomorrow but then they will think I am recovered and discharge me and I want to finish my self esteem course and also I am still not feeling very stable and once I get my album finished I am worried that I will have time on my hands again and I will wana fuck up again argh! Self fulfilling... stop these thoughts! Not enough time though. I think I definitely have to cancel the unit because I need to get stuff done before tomorrow evening! I will see if I can go on Wednesday to the unit instead because then I can also use the computer there and my laptop and burn cd's. But then I think I am not going there for therapy but to work and they might not like that.

Non technical wreck trying to produce album :(

Ok so the guy who offered to do the mastering has gone AWOL which is ok because I did not have the WAV files ready for him anyway. This is one reason I will be glad to get this album out to finally have these WAVS and files of my songs back in one piece. Here is where it all went wrong...

I produced a chunk of my early tunes on a PC, I moved out the house and got my own set up. I bought a mac (coz apparently they never crash and good for live performance). I retrieved all my songs but they were all laid out in Sony Vegas which is not compatible for the mac. Luckily retrieved separate wav files for say 5 songs from the old PC.

In November had put the tracks together for some live stuff. This was hard although I didn't have to put on the vocal tracks because I was singing those and the backing tracks were running off reason so they were high enough quality. The main problem with this was I had to change the speed of the drums in some tracks and it was difficult to know what speed exactly would match the bass and guitar I had already recorded to the drums when they were at the speed they were before (!?!). But anyway, pulled this off and did a few gigs In Nov, Dec and Jan.
Since then I have been vibing up to get my album out. I moved house in December and spent 5 months distraught and sitting round smoking rolies makiing music here and there.

I decide to give myself a deadline 7th May and invite everyone I know to my house for a party where I give them a CD followed by a small gig in a nice venue around the corner where some other experimental bands will be playing.

I had already got a handful of MP3's from the original Sony Vegas files so luckily have had some record of my songs to compare to while I have piecing the WAV files back together in Cubase.

the problems I have encountered are things like having 4 vocal files for one track where, for example in the Sony Vegas files I had chopped sections and switched them around etc. So I had do this all over again. The other problem was to get a better quality end WAV I exported each reason track from every song as a WAV. So I had to match these up and the match up any bass and guitar WAVS (which were also not straightforward takes - in the original files there chopped and mixmatched),

So basically I have 9 complete tracks! And 4 left to sort out. Eaarlier on my hard drive said it was too full to carry on working so I have spent an hour now ging through and deleting loads of files which i hope are not WAVS for other songs cozu can't always tell. WAH!

I have left it all until last minute and I am still recovering from my mental breakdown two weeks ago where I ended up on diazepam for 2 weeks and attending a recovery unit where I have gone to the root of my core to start building myself a new self esteem and re-establish my core beliefs.

So it has been a busy time

But luckily I have some fabulous original artwork by French artist Faustine Ferrer www.myspace.com/faustineferrer which will look a bit like the pic in this blog.

Once I get the WAVS in order I am hoping to have chance to run them through a mastering programme. I have two options for that and I hope they work out as they are PC programmes but I am sure it won't matter for WAVS.

Tomorrow I will wake up, siz eup the artowkr chuck a tantrum logo and title on it and put it on my usb stick. Then when i go to the recovery unit I will print out the artwork and try and print enough so I can cover an A3 sheet. Then I wil buy pink card and photocopy enough for 200 covers. The back will be a pink sheet with the credits etc on.

I also need to buy 200 cd's and spray them hopefully they will have some kind if little eris logo. I have no idea how long it will take to burn 200 cd's. The WAVS are all between 30 - 79 mb's (!?)

Scared I am. Can I pull it off in time now!?!?! Why did I leave it so last minute and why did I have a breakdown two week ago - it was the worst timing!!!! But it is all connected and I will heal.

But anyway on a happier note here is a little video made by the lovely elf (who has been my saviour bringing me crystals and angel wings and cosmic stuff and DVD's to help me throug the production process).

As far as my album is concerned I have missed my deadline to get the WAVS to DJ DInnermoney to be mastered so I have a lot of work on my hands to get the quality right for the production of the CD's next week! It really is going to be completely all DIY by me! ARGH!!!! I have people on standby to help me with burning off all the cd's and to help make my house ready for the launch party but there is a lot of work ahead! It is going be amazing and special I hope so much!!! Only 200 copies to start off with but I have been spotting little record shops around cardiff where I will leave a few and a have a few people who I will make sure get a copy and of course the launch party where I will be giving them away!

I am also performing on 7th May at the Rocking Chair in Cardiff for the Tailspin night run by Ariel http://www.myspace.com/arielvision . I am a big support of this monthly experimental music night as the music is always unusual and random, there music and artists and always a few surprises and randomness. Really good vibe place.I love it!

My mini radio documentary was on Adam Walton Show tonight , it is a good 7 mins with 2 brand new unheard Little Eris trax, 2 tracks by under the radar producers who are not online and never been on radio and loads of cool stuff.

I realised I had been listening to last weeks show suprised by lack of electro as it this week it as was electronic special!

Can't wait to listen to tonghts' show tomorrow in the iplayer! The old show i listened to was pretty good mind. Some things that made me think of other things. Paricuarly Cardiff, the set ups, the people. I am interested in social and networking dynamics and the Peppermint Patti made me think of stuff... maybe will blog some observations soon... hmmm

YAY! I am over the bump of madness - maybe my mental breakdown was just PMT!?!?. The doc is refusing to diagnose me as bipolar or clinical depression or anything like that and is refusing to give me tablets which is good because I liked the sleeping tablets and diazepam they made me have very illustrated dreams. I think just because when I smile I have dimples, people think I am happy, and i am also too articulate so he thinks I am too together and unworthy of antidepressants. So I guess this means I am stuck with the me that is me HAHAHAHAH!

So ... le plan. I want to move someone into my house to share the rent so I can get some cash and GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE !!!

And I think it can be done. I think it will happen soon.

I am also hoping to be working with a very good producer who is very much under the radar but has amazing production skills and a great set up. We are hoping to work together as he has the knowledge and the kit and I have the songwriting. So once I get this little debut lofi scratchy raw Molecules R Us collection out I am going to focus on moving it up a level.

I am in the middle today of doing the Adam Waton documentary which i hope I can get to him in time for hs show tomorrow which is an electronic music special.

Half way through getting the WAVS for Dinnermoney. Monday this will be done by now. I JUST WANT TO FINISH STUFF NOW!!!! I am no good at finishing things.

I have been confirmed to play at THE WORKHOUSE FESTIVAL! If this is the only gig I hae this year I don't care it is is going to be a DREAM SHOW of AMAZINGNESS. The ideas I have, the routines, the outfits!!!

On a personal level I have a really heavy period today to the point where blood is dripping down my legs even though I have on the biggest always ultra available. Gross isn't it?! This is how it is being female sometimes. GRRRRReat. So I am staying in tonight. But I have things to do, so it is OK. I have ribena, I have good DVD's, I have some fags and some toast and marmite. What more can a person ask for. Everyone I know is off partying. Time to detach and slow down and look inwards.

Ok must carry on now with the radio thing.

Oh yeah last night I went to the reopening of The Toucan in Cardiff, I got there late on my bike and I sat outside and drank cider and I saw my friend Olga who I first met in my dream (but that is another story). I went in and everyone was tall and stylish it was dark with glass everywhere. I heard there are 4 floors but I did not explore so I have no more to report on that but I liked the vibe outside and the people looked dready and scruffy and beanie hatty and sitting on pavement type which is GOOD for someone like me

I wish I was going to this night in Bristol tonight but I have no money. Money sucks. I am not going to Rainbow camp for Beltane but I am hopefully going to Coed Hills, someone said I can get a lift on Wednesday with them so I will have to see if I can have some days off from my therapy. I am up and down but i am learning this is life. I saw a very cool psychiatrist and met him in the art room of the crisis recovery unit and he believes I am not at all insane. So there! YAYAYAY!!! I am not MAD or BIPOLAR ! Tis is giving me great confidence to be myself from now on. :D hehehehehheheh being alive has never felt so liberating.

My quest to heal my damaged psyche has catapulted me into the hands of psychiatric professionals.

I am currently under the care of a crisis recovery team.

I have to get WAVS to Dj Dinnermoney by 25th April for mastering at the moment I am struggling to do anything. I am also hoping to get a 7 minute radio documentary thing to Adam Walton very soon to promote the album.

I should have had help a long time ago but I guess the time is right now even though it is quite bad timing in terms of my aim of getting the album out. I am very impressed with the service that has been offered to me. I am very tired at the moment. I can't get out of bed easily and get dressed. I can't focus on anything. My self esteem is an all time low. I hope after this experience i will be more secure and confident and hopefully this will translate in my little eris performance which have been painfully shy so far. I just want to feel happy and let go. I have so much inside me good and energy vibes, I want to be more free and not crippled with anxiety and misery.

I feel that in some respects I don't need to share this experience but this is such massive thing for me that I can't keep it in.

Already my core chakra is being helped by diazepam for now but I will be progressing to a non medicinal therapy as my mood lifts.

Love to everyone. Positive vibes. Get my roots repaired. It is exciting and I am optimistic. It is better than suffering, or trying to block it in a destructive way.

LIttle Eris album launch party

I have set a date for the album launch party!

It will take place on 7th May at my house. I have invited 133 people, hopefully not everyone will be able to make it as my place is not THAT big! wah!

So, now I have set this deadline I really have to crack on with everything.

I have to;

Get WAVS to DJ Dinnermoney so he can start mastering.
Take some photos for the online artwork
Source all the materials for my DIY cd package.
Get some stickers made
Check in with Johnny Nigma about videos to accompany the package
Set a production schedule for packaging up the cd's - I am doing it myself by hand and I want to do a run of 200 so that will take a bit of time!

I am sure there is more to do. It look like I probably won't be going to Rainbow Camp now but it will be nice to do the launch and then head off to the Newgale camping trip knowing that Little Eris debut album is launched YAYAYAY!!

The G20, the media and the death of an innocent person

This evening The Guardian exposed the police as having the caused the death of Ian Tomlinson, an innocent man who just happened to be walking home from work near the G20 protests. The video clearly shows the police surrounding him and one of them hitting him with a baton. His fall to the floor later resulted in his death.

The video is very upsetting. The police are gathering around this one defenseless man. It is so cowardly. I felt really sad watching it.

The Guardian must be praised for putting out this video. Most mainstream coverage f the G20 protest was biased in favour of the police and the footage was edited accordingly. This resulted in the average Tv watching member of the public condemning the protestors. The images the mainstream media put forward manipulated the public just thought the protestors were violent and aggressive hooligans a tactic which resulted in the core purpose of the G20 protest being overlooked.

Perhaps the unfortunate and tragic death of Ian Tomlinson will highlight that the police who have traditionally been perceived as 'good' by the average majority of the public may be viewed with a more cynical eye. It is an important time now where cannot take anything at face value and the public need to be questioning what they see on TV instead of just believing it all.

Anyway don't now why I had the urge to write this. I think The Guardian showing this video is really important and I hope it gets people thinking and taking action and generally changing their attitudes. This goes mostly for the average person. A lot of my peers are aware of this stuff but, there are still loads and loads of people out there ready to defend the forces who they think are defending us without realising these forces are there to defend the system that is ultimately there to exploit us for money and power.

I will have to leave Rainbow camp early and be in Cardiff to sign on Thursday 7th May

Friday 8th - Sunday 10th May - camping with Simon Boing and Bristol travellers hopefully they can pick me up on the way

Friday 16th - Saturday 17th - OOTO Crew Gathering in Sussex. Have to work out how to get there!

Sign on 21st May then available to volunteer for Sunrise ( I am trying to see if I can sort something out at the moment)

Sunrise festival Thursday 28th - Sunday 31st May

I hope all these things work out. Even if half of them do it will be quite an eye opening month I think! I have never been to a Rainbow Circle Camp so I am looking forward to seeing what it is all about. I am a bit worried it might be too full on, I don't do chanting and saying Om so I hope I won't feel too out of place with all that stuff going on! It will be something different to think about anyway, I am very open minded and I have seen enough of the conventional side of life to want to experience a different side now.

I must get a tent and a sleeping bag, sort out megabus tickets and confirm Sunrise volunteering. I loved Sunrise last year but it was cancelled just before it was about to start so I really hope to go back there this year for a fuller experience. Although last year it was so amazing! I will post my note up about on here one day... x

So.. before I go off to do this I want to get my Little Eris stuff out there so I can start building up my new vibes for my new songs! that is le plan!!!! Also I have a hospital appointment lurking in the near future hopefully I will be called in for that before May as well so it is out of the way then.

Sicknote have an excellent track called Death Before Employment which was released on 1st April.

This is an essential chakra at the centre of our being. It is the core of the body, mind and spirit.

Mine is fucked. Constant gnawing in my centre makes which I have learnt is caused by anxiety. I really have to sort this out to live a happy life.

The solar plexus chakra is linked with fire. I love fire. At any festival I will stay with the fire until the morning. I think it is my way of self healing. I need to really work on fixing this chakra. It is apparently paired with the heart chakra. If you have a problem with the one chakra the adjoining chakra sometimes manifests the pain. I have had this pain since around 2003 - 2004 - I think this was a year of heartbreak and drugs. So very bad for the heart and soul!!

I must fix it!

I watched the video below and the pain disappeared briefly. Probably should have watched it without toking a rolie it might have worked better! I have been aware of needing to sort this out for a long time, a few years at least. I have to try not to feel anxious about fixing it otherwise I never will and... this will happen;

The solar plexus is an important area of human fulfillment. Often, the hurts of the past prevent us from full self-appreciation and diminish self-esteem.

In addition, when we've reduced our ability to feel, we decrease the ability to feel good. This includes the ability to feel good about ourselves. When the emotional and physical sensations that accompany a feeling of accomplishment are diminished, we are less able to appreciate what we've achieved. We cannot honor our uniqueness.

As the center of the human body, the solar plexus is important in balancing the energy flow between the upper and lower parts of the body. The issues that rise when it's unbalanced are central to our emotional well-being. Must sort this out!
